Zafferano Emiliano Favors: A Guide to Choosing

Last week we talked about how important the choice of wedding favor is to the success of an event.

Thinking about the events I’ve attended over the years, the memories I have are tied to the day, the experiences, the food, the people I shared the fun with: but I don’t remember any of them having a wedding favor.

And it’s precisely for this reason that I decided to create a line of Zafferano Emiliano favors: I want things to be different for my clients. I want their guests to remember their wedding favors, even years later.

We all have at least one memory, a Proust-esque “madeleine,” tied to food: the smell of grandma’s ragù, the taste of the roast that mom only makes for special occasions, that cake baked with your best friend in her new house… Hence the decision to create a line of gastronomic favors, to transform a gift into a lasting experience.

Today, I’m taking you back into the Zafferano Emiliano laboratory to present the complete line of our customizable favors and the new product we’ve designed and developed specifically to help you choose.

Saffron or Honey? That’s the Dilemma!

Let’s think of choosing your wedding favors as a flowchart, where, depending on the choices you make, you’ll follow a different path. So, let’s start right away with the first question: saffron or honey? Some people prefer the intense color and intense aroma of saffron, while others prefer the sweetness of honey. However, there’s no right or wrong choice—both are excellent solutions!

Saffron, with its red color, pairs beautifully with favors for an original graduation party. And what’s sweeter than choosing our flavored honey to celebrate a new birth?

Saffron & Dragees

For saffron-based favors, I’ve come up with several solutions, because every event has a different feel.

Chic and Gift Lines – The Elegance of the Essential

Here, the star is saffron threads. It’s the perfect choice if you’re looking for an elegant, thoughtful, yet simple gift. Saffron and dragees are enclosed in a cardboard box. The Gift model, with its gold print, is perfect for First Communions and Confirmations. In the Chic model, perfect for minimalist weddings, you can customize the color of the ribbon that closes the package.

The “basic” version of the Chic and Gift lines contains a 0.2g vial of Zafferano Emiliano saffron. For those seeking a richer offering, the “Plus” version is available, containing a 0.4g vial of saffron.

Book and Scrigno Lines – The Most Precious Offers

The Book and Scrigno lines are designed to create a “Wow” effect on your guests. They are the perfect gift for witnesses, parents, or godparents.

These lines are also available in two different formats: the basic one, which contains a 1g vial of saffron, and the “Plus” one, which contains a 2g vial of saffron.

In addition to the linen-printed fabric ribbon (which you can customize to your liking), you’ll also find a fabric flower in a matching color.

Honey & Dragees

The honey option is perfect for those who want to combine the preciousness of saffron with the sweetness of honey. It’s a wedding favor that unites the plant world, including saffron, with the fruits of the beekeeper’s labor.
Our honey is made from a blend of organic acacia honey from the company Le Api del Carevolo 2.0 with our organic saffron threads. There is no such thing as saffron flower honey, because saffron blooms in autumn, the time when bees begin their “rest” period after the hard work of spring and summer foraging.

Acacia honey is enriched with saffron pistils and left to infuse for a few weeks before being ready for consumption. Since honey cannot be heated (otherwise it would spoil), it needs more time to release its full aroma.
The result is surprising: a burst of flavor, perfect for a happy event like a birth or a country-chic wedding!

Dragees: Which Type and How Many?

When choosing the dragees for your wedding favors, we had no doubts about which brand to choose: we decided to collaborate with Mucci, one of the most renowned brands in Italy and abroad.

Dragees: Which Type?

For each type of favor, you can choose from three different types of dragees:

• Pizzuta d’Avola almond dragees, which were also selected by Gambero Rosso in their ranking of the best dragees in Italy. These are classic almond dragees, ideal for all occasions.
• Tenerelli: an exclusive recipe from Mucci and their flagship product. They are chocolate-covered almonds and hazelnuts…a real treat! Perfect for baptisms or a casual wedding.
• Chocolate dragees: the alternative for chocolate lovers, these dragees are made with dark chocolate. Red dragees are the perfect choice for celebrating a graduation or an important anniversary.

All dragees types are available in four different colors: white, blue, pink, and red—an extra touch to make your favors unique.

Dragees: How Many?

For your wedding favors, we also offer the option to choose the number of dragees. I’ve always received favors that contained a standard number of dragees, usually 5. However, while choosing the favor materials, I discovered that the number of dragees can vary based on the meaning we want to give to the event, which is why I decided to include the number of dragees among the many variables in the selection.

• 3 dragees: represent the couple and their first child. Suitable for weddings or baptisms.
• 5 dragees: symbolize the wishes expressed to the celebrant: health, happiness, fertility, long life, and wealth.
• 7 dragees: this number is associated with luck and spirituality, and is usually associated with graduations.

The option to choose the number of dragees is not applicable for the Saffron Honey & Dragees Customizable Favors: in this case, the number of dragees is fixed at 5 for packaging reasons.

The Digital Laboratory

I know that when organizing an event, budgeting is an integral part of the stress. Not to mention the waiting time for quotes.

Delivery

For wedding favors, delivery times can vary between 7 and 14 days. We deliver throughout Italy (and also to major European countries) via express courier and with the utmost care. If you decide to entrust your wedding favors to Zafferano Emiliano, I recommend contacting me in advance so we can organize everything as best as possible and avoid delays due to delivery.

For those in the Piacenza area, in-store pickup is also available.
